To spring seat, or not to spring seat, opinions welcome
I recently purchased a Shotgun Shock system and it made the little extra suspension I got with the spring seat unnecessary. So I'm trying out the stock seat again on my Slim.
There are advantage and disadvantages to both set ups in terms of the ride. And things I like about each cosmetically. So opinions welcome.

I've found I like the spring seat a lot. I do like the feeling of sitting in the bike when using the original seat but the change in riding position with the spring seat is far better for me. The spring seat raises and pushes me forward a touch so my leg/knee bend angle is better and more comfy. I also find that the change in height gives me more control in turns. I think the biggest downside to the spring is not having the ability to quickly take the seat off. Not something needed all the time but having that option was nice. In short, I like the look and feel of the spring the best.

Had a old Cobra seat on my 81 FXWG. Rode it from SC to NJ for vacation. When I got back to SC first thing I did was replace the cobra with a sprung solo. 200% improivement in ride comfort. I had a stock wide glide with the shocks and my rear was still sore from the ride...I say go with the springs..

You know, the stock seat is kinda growing on me.
The spring seat was more comfortable when I didn't have the Shotgun Shock. But now, it's about a wash.
I like the look of the spring seat. But the stock seat really sits you nice and low and "in" the bike.
The spring seat is great for cornering, and really nice for going full lock on the bars on slow maneuvers.
The stock seat is nice for superslab riding, cutting down on wind because you are so low.
The spring seat is good for visibility, both what you can see and cagers seeing you.
The stock gives you a bit more of a thrill by virtue of being low to the ground.
Riders and cagers alike will always compliment you on the spring seat.
But the stitching in the stock seat actually goes nice with the HD pillion pad.
Like I said, both have their advantages. I think I'm gonna run the stock seat for a few weeks and see if it keeps growing on me.
