Default after the first free year of full HOG membership, is it worth continuing?

Just wonder in a yr, if there are real benefits to renewing. One of the dealership salesmen says no, and that he doesn't. you get the magazine, and one roadside assistance/yr, but those are the best benefits.

What do you think?

Some Hog members think they are in a real club ? You are not .
See what it does for you in this coming year and go from there .

I get a pretty good discount on my cell phone bill with my HOG membership. Two months discount pays my membership for the year.

I wouldn't be a HOG member if it were given to me.

My husband got the magazine for his first yr, and I enjoyed it alot actually. Other than that, not really sure if it has any merit.

baka, why so dead set against the membership?

SOME of us like to READ and there are pretty good stories in the rag. Been a member for years and will continue to do so although I have only used the towing once.

I get really tired of all the HOGS bashing that happens here...

Personally, I'm pretty active in my local chapters you get some nice perks with your membership, and my local chapter is super involved with all the dealership events and we do some awesome rides. But I also really enjoy volunteering.
Guess it depends on your local chapter whether you want to continue it, some chapters are better than others. For me... It's worth it.

I bought a new bike in 2012 and received the membership, and another new bike in 2013 along with another years membership for free.
I have done nothing with the membership other than to read the Hog magazine.
Don't see another new bike in 14, so I'll probably let it go.

Do you enjoy wearing clown suits and constantly seek validation from like minded and dressed individuals? Like suckling off the teat of your local dealership? Or acting like you're part of something that means nothing?

If you do, then HOG is for YOU!

Sorry Jess, I'm just not social like that. I don't want to live my life based on a HOG schedule calendar. I can't stand large group rides. Especially when most of the people can't ride for *****. Plus, a HOG gathering reminds me of a suburban cul-de-sac neighborhood.

The small discounts HOG may or may no offer I can get myself elsewhere.
