Why must Harleys set so low
#51
In a Kawi dealership on Saturday with a friend... Sat on a 1400 Concourse.. Took it off my list of " 'nuther bike".. I'm 5'9" and would need to drop the bike at least 2" to be comfortable when stopped. Maybe the reason the Kawi dealers always seem to have lots of 'em in stock. Goin' down the road is fine, but ya gotta stop some time and being comfortable in parking lots and at stop lights is important too.(If you ride more than just weekend jaunts, it won't be all highway miles - it IS transportation...) The FLHX is just right fer me.....

and in my wife's opinion, they don't make them sit low enough -- let me clarify -- the seat height is low -- however the engine is too wide -- hence she has no chance of putting her feet down in any way possible to hold the bike up.

There's a lot of big and tall guys that ride Harley's. And I have friends that alway wished the moco would make a bike called the tall boy. A bike that would required a whole new frame and suspension. But thirty years later and there still talking about it to . They must only hear the short guys and the girls crying !

There isn't one model I've ever sat on where my legs are even remotely extended at a stop and I'm only 6'1. My old rice burners sat much higher and rode way better. It just seems HD targets shorter people in there bike design. I even read a lot of posts where people want them even lower. Has anybody ever raised their suspension?

We should really be talking about inseam length here, not how tall you are. I'm Joe normal at 5'10" with about 32" inseam and this Heritage stock was too damn tall for my taste. RKs and such are taller. I'm not sure what OP is looking for in a bike.

Depends what you are riding too, i see a sportster in your thread. My dyna and springer, i could have used stretching out. I am also 6'1", the Vrod muscle fit good but i was very stretched out, the bars and pegs are far. Don't know how anyone shorter then me could even ride that bike. My current bagger feels great.
