Default Passenger seat strap?

I picked up the new seat yesterday. Nice. H.D. Fatboy w/backrest. It came with a pass. strap. I don't know if I want it on. Metal on metal, chrome scratching. Any thoughts? Deanna won't ride much with me and she said she much rather wrap her arms around me to hold on.

It's not much more than a decoration anyhow. On or off, it's up to you.

I look at it only as ananti-seat-theft device.

When I swapped the stock seat out on my FXST for a badlander I ditched the strap...didn't like the look of it. No problems here.

ditch the strap , they are useless. I think in IL we are supposed to have them but I have never heard of anybody getting questioned about them

They are worthless but required in some states. You may want to check the law in your state if you worry about those kinda things.

Anyone who rides with me has the backrest. Never had anybody try to use it.

Ditch It!

Its like the tag that comes on a matress. IF you remove it, under theFederal Seat Strap Law of 2003, you can be fined , imprisoned and made to wash your ears.
