Default Disable the Running lights on front turn signals

Anyone have any idea how I can disable the running lights on the front turn signals? without losing my signals.

I saw a bike coming from a distance away at night, he had ape hangers with his turn signals in the back of the mirrors. The running lights were on and it looked like an alien ship aproaching. lol
It made me think about disabling mine.

If they don't see me, I will be toast, if not today, eventually...Think about it...

I know I'm not answering your, "how to...", but you might want to rethink disabling them. Probably the most used excuse in a cager vs bike accident, is "I just didn't see him." In fact I've been in several close calls myself, and after chasing the d*ck heads down, that's the line I get.

Last week I just installed the unit that converts my rear turn signals into running lights as well.

Yes, so true. Guess I was more curious than serious. I certainly don't want to risk not being seen.
point well taken.

Change the bulb............
Changing the bulb won't work...you already have a two filiment bulb in the fixture and changing to a sigle filiment bulb will put the electrode in the middle of both contacts on the pig tail, so it will still burn, but nolonger flash as a turn signal.

To diasable the running lights you need to unplug the wires at the connector, remove the wires from the connector and replug in the connector.

The reasoning of better visibility would make me NOT want to do that.

Disableing the running lights is very simple. See here in the land of the Rising Sun (aka Japan) they think running lights suck so to pass JCI (BS Tax for all vehichals) they must be disabled. The fix is simple a small peice of electrical tape placed over one of the 2 post on back of light. Which one you ask No way to be certin just try one see if turn sig works if it does then you hit right one. If your running light comes on and truing signal dosn't work then move your tape.

I'm with the rest I tape mine to get through inspection then a block later I am back to Statesside model with running lights.
