I guess I'm missing something. I just flip the toggle switchif I want to disengage my passing lamps.

Oh, you are talking about the ones that are intergal to the turn signal housings.

My bad.

Was always replacing one side then the other on my 86 sportie.Vibration would always leave me with just one working. I simply saved a burnt one till another one burned out, then replaced the good one with the burned out one.Blinkers still work.

If you don't want ANY running lights, change the wires on the ignition so that your motor starts first . second position would be running lights and headlight. This way at night you would still have ALL of your lightss working...Mark...

I know I'm not answering your, "how to...", but you might want to rethink disabling them. Probably the most used excuse in a cager vs bike accident, is "I just didn't see him." In fact I've been in several close calls myself, and after chasing the d*ck heads down, that's the line I get.

Last week I just installed the unit that converts my rear turn signals into running lights as well.
I like that idea a lot,the more visibility the better.I noticed today just how well the front running lights show up....

I'mposted to England and obtained my UK M/C licenselast fall(Did not have endorsment on my US drivers license).Great training I might add. I bought a US Spec '07 Deluxe through HD Military Sales, and of course I have the front amber running lights. Here in the UK all vehicles must have only white lights at the front...so I'll have to disable my runners. The fear is that inattentive cagers will mistake the amber running lights for a turn signal and that'll be all she wrote! Thanks forthe electrical tape advice! I'll give it a try.
