So, I'm out yesterday breakin in the new RK and stopped for a coffee and some chow at a truckstop. I'm sitting there and low and behold I hear a jingle of chain and some creaking leather behind me as this fella struts in and sits down. Hes decked out in Harley gear from head to toe, got the chain wallet, vest and leather do rag on, etc... So I strike up a conversation with him.
"Hey, Beautiful day to be out riding isnt it?"
him: "Ah no I didnt ride today, hey I like that "If I have to explain it, you wouldnt understand" patch you got there"
me: "Yep, its teh truth aint it? So What do you ride?"
him: "I dont have a motorcycle, Always did like Harley's tho."
me: "So which one are you gonna get?"
him: "Oh I dont know, the wife wont let me have one."

I was so confused, lol. At least hes loyal...

 

If you had introduced yourself to him you would have learned his name was probably Walter Mitty.

whats even more funnyis when i read the subject headline for this string, i thought it read "So he wants a rub, what do you call this" i was just about to say something, then realized the error of my way.

He wouldn't be a RUB because they own bikes. Maybe poser would be a closer description.

I could pull up somewhere on my cycle wearing jeans and a denim jacket but odds are, no one would bring up riding as a topic while I'm trying to eat. If I'm in my leathers, it's all they want to talk about. Suddenly, everyone I run in to is a rider/racer/bike builder/Harley fan/anti-Harley/RUB/warner(one of those people that tells you how dangerous it is to ride..)/#1 Icyhot Stuntaz/knows a friend with a bike/has an uncle with a bike/never wanted a motorcycle but likes chrome/watched a movie with a motorcycle in it, etc.

I think it's fun when I'm out and it never gets old, but I'mrelatively new to riding. Someone who's been riding for years may not think it's as fun. Especially if theysaw your brand new RK and thought you were the RUB.

So again, maybe he was just screwin with you.Or maybe he was one of the village people. Either way, heck of a funny story.
