Best cams ?
I'm wanting to do cams in my 06' Street Bob (stage 1) and was all ready to go with Andrews 37 cams, but now I'm hearing unless I do some headwork and up the compression, they're not the right choice. So my question is, for low to mid range power, on a stage 1 88", what are the better cams to go with? I might go big bore or head work later on, but not remotely any time soon. So what suggestions for cams do you all have, or what experiences do any of you have for cams on a stage 1 88"?

Andrews 21 cams do a great job for 88" stage 1. You can call Andrews to get their opinion. I'm about to put Andrews TW26G's in my 95" with headwork, replacing the S&S 510G cams because I want more torque at a lower RPM range. Called Andrews and talked to their technical department and that is what they recommended.

That may be a good idea. I'm not trying to break 100hp+, but I really want something that pulls like a bat out of hell from 1200-about 5,000rpm's, top end I like my power band but off the line I don't have much pull at all. A bit more power off the line and mid range would be awesome.

That's exactly the powerband I want! Any idea what hp and tq numbers you got from that, and how much of a noticeable difference was it?

I will confirm the low end power of the Andrews 21's. Off the line and up steep grades this cam will have your bike pulling like a locomotive. I can't say enough good things about this cam in my bike.

I haven't put the 21's in my bike. I'll be putting the 26's in mine because of the head work. Andrews should be able to tell you what you can expect re: TQ & HP.

I have the 21s and smoke my buddy with 37s no problem.... The 21s come on hard off the line. I tested his bike out the 37s are soft on the bottom but work great with heads a 95inch big bore kit. I also tried the. 510s and there soft too... U can't go wrong with the 21s unless u plan on going crazy.... And I get 43mpg city

I also have a friend with no joke identical setups just I have the 21s and he has the 26s....and the 21s pull harder. Best race we did was 5th gear roll from 45mpr to 100...the 21s pulled away around 80mpr the 26s came alive and he passed me at 90mpr
