She probably stopped short and sounds like the biker almost hit her...still doesn't justify what the biker did, IMO...she wasn't worrying about the bike behind her when she came to a stop quickly...course he could have been tailgating her as well...

I just read the article. What an asshat the guy on the bike was, he was riding with his head up his *** and didnt see the pedestrian (which has the right of way) in which case the woman legally stopped, and he loses it because because hes an *** and almost rear ended her... Anyone else agree?

I agree with everything you said, but if she really didn't really have time to stop safely and have the potential of hurting or killing the biker behind her, not right either, even if he was riding her butt...but its all just speculation on our parts...

It still doesn't justify what he did to retaliate, but he probably crapped his drawers...I'm just sayin'

I call bull s**t on it being her fault. Don't follow too closely, period.

I didn't say it was her fault, since I wasn't there watching what transpired...I have no idea...

If it were me in the cage and I had a biker (maybe you) on my butt, I would NEVER stop short unless there was a person in the crosswalk and they were directly in front of me and if I didn't slam on the brakes, I'd hit them...then the biker following me too closely is on his/her own...

Any other scenario favors the biker following me too closely...

Just like any rear end vehicle accident. You are responsible for your own vehicle and are expected to be able to safely stop before hitting them. If you hit someone in front of you in that situation, you were traveling too fast, too close or both.

That said, the biker probably crapped his drawers when she stopped abruptly in front of him. I can see a situation where I'd be pissed but still at fault any way you look at it.

Getting into a road rage situation, especially SUV on bike isn't going to end well.
