air pressure

Running low pressure on the rear without some kind of rim lock will spin the tire on the rim on hard acceleration. With tubeless tires you will lose some pressure, with a tube you will for sure have instant flat when the stem shears off.
Low pressure in front and you can spin it on hard braking.
I run 32-35 rear and 35-36 front on my hardtail chopper with tube type spoke wheels.

I've ran 8 psi at the drag strip. And I have been running 12 to 15 in my rear ties for over 15 years. That is bar hopping and poker rides ect. On my other bike which I road trip on I would recommend correct pressure. Your fender should hit no matter Whsts pressure you have.

It softens the ride on my xl. I'm not a guy that rides super hard in the corners. It gives me a lot more traction. Soft compound tire with lower press keeps the wheel from spinning. This is on my hot rod xl. I wouldnt do it on my heritage Springer. My xl is rough riding and will blow the tire off in two gears with a stock tire and normal air pressure.

Somebodies full of **** I ran rigids for years and you never go under 20PSI in a tire or you run a real chance of the tire separating off the rims . We did run them between 25 and 30 psi to help with the road jars and not chipping teeth but no lower .
Another thing less air pressure allows the tire to deform and they can rub in tight spots , air it up and watch the sidewalls pull in a bit as the crown raises .

Thats for sure.

8 lbs is ridiculous ... That's just asking for catastrophic failure ( when you least expect it too ) Hell, 20 lbs is even too low ... Read "TwiZted" s last sentence too!

Agree to disagree on a bar hopper street strip bike. Call me stupid or what not. Let's run em. O.....low pressure works good for riding 1/4 mile wheelie in second gear.
People fear the unusual or something thsts not the norm.
So a 150mph drag sporty is unsafe at the strip with 8 psi. Lol

Fyi... I don't run low pressure in my everyday turd bike. Just saying there is a small place for low air pressure riding and hot rodding.. and it's not bad.....damn haters that know everything. Bahahaha.
Maybe I'm trying to speak to the rare breads that put on more miles with yhete front wheel hovering 2' off the ground. Dam bam
