Default Female Service Managers?

Do you have a female Service Manager in your dealership?

What are your feelings towards them?

You can make multiple choices.

Also dont see a place for them in repair shops like Sears and such. Or in the underwear section of a dept store!

Oh wow, this is gonna get ugly fast I'm thinkin'.

Just remember, it's 2007 not 1807...women are allowed out of the kitchen once in a while

For a serious answer, no, none of the HD shops I go to have female service managers. If they did it wouldn't bother me in a the least as long as she knew the product/parts sufficient to do her job. Then again I require that of the male service managers, knowledge of product/parts. If they don't know I don't come back, fairly simple math.

One of the shops here in town has an Asst. Service Manager who is female. She's not only cute (sexist remark I know; my apologies ladies), but she knows her stuff and is as deserved as any man to be in that position.

Provided they are capable and know their stuff, I have no problems whatsoever with female service managers. Hell, based on the male service managers I've encountered, they sure as hell couldn't be any worse!

usmv16, you should've clarified better in your subject line. I filled the poll before reading your first thread! I thought you were asking if Female Svc Managers were ok!

Personally, I would love to see women in the underwear section. (Been reading too many Penthouse Forums I guess....)

I don't have one at the local HD shop, but I could care less. Like someone previously posted, my only requirement for SM (or any other profession)is they know what they hell they're talking about. I know a gal who was a better wrench on outboard motors thana lot of the men. I grade on competence, not on the sex of the person in the job.

I would not care if it were a robot as long as my bike was fixed at a reasonable price.

I never use any service departments, but a couple of the dealers I go to do have females behind the parts counters and they have been very helpfull and knowledgable when I have questions. I know many folks that have had their bikes serviced poorlyby men. I don't think being male automatically makes someone a better service manager.
