Not exactly.
Texas only inspects Lights, Horn, Tires and a Functional Brake Test for motorcycles.
There is no Emission Test required even in the counties that require it for passanger vehicles.

At least so far in Texas I have not had some idiot kid inspector insist on testing my bike himself. They always have me do the flying brake test while they watch. Once I did have the kid say he had to test drive my bike and I said not hardly and he said ok and applied the inspection sticker.

PA has inspections and depending on when you get your ride you might end up with 2 in a 12 month period. They are pretty detailed. I am pretty glad that we do it here. Rather have a safe ride then not.

NH has an annual inspection. June for MC They inspect everything on the bike just like a car. I usually have the guy at the local garage do it. He does the whole thing bit and the annual chuckle is wipers.

Yearly safety inspections are mandatory here in NY. They check all the usual safety stuff, tires, brakes, lights, horn, etc and if you pass they attach the water proof sticker to the front end of the bike.
