Riding on grooved roads

Riding on grooved roads
I have been riding for about three years nowand for some reason hate going on grooved roads, it seems to me that I don't have as much control, road feels kind of slippery. Yet I see other riders cruising along like they have no problem at all.
Am I missing something, is there a method to riding on this kind of surface.
Thanks for your input.

I hate them they suck. I get thrown all over the place. There are two places close to my house that I hate. No warning no notice you are just in it. When I switched from Dunlop on the rear to a metzler on the rear it went away.

Harley, or rather Dunlap came out with the current tread design in about 1991. Prior to that, riding HD's on a groved road was truly a rodio. I was supprised at how much the 'then new' tread pattern changed how the bikes ride on groved roads.
Thanks for the tip. I'm sure that other companies have developed better tires than Dunlap since they have not changed them much since '91.
By the way, the tip is: "Don't fight it, just enjoy the wiggle. It is 90% between your ears.."

Well I felt the same way. We got a lot of patches of grooved roads here in Phoenix especially in I-10. They don't bother me now. Just drive at least 65 on them is my advice. The faster I go the more safe I feel on them. I actually feel safer on my RKC than I do on my Sportbike when on those surfaces...so remember: drive fast!

The Dunlops on my 06 sucked, followed every line in the road.
Switching to Continental Conti-Tours solved that problem.
Plus they have the best wet road traction.

Grooved roads are not that much of a problem if you dont fight it, the bike is gonna go straight, just wiggles a bit.
As far as te steel grated bridges, man, I need a prybar to get the seat loose from my a$$ after hitting one of those and not being prepared for it!
