Default non-hd stages

I have a buddy that bought a Yamaha with a stage 3 performance upgrade (tried to talk him into an HD but hey, atleast he's riding). Anyway does anyone here know what the stages are for metric bikes? From what I understand they are different from H-D, I think stage 3 in metric means headwork but I'm not sure. If anyone knows and can tell me, thank you in advance.

It's amazing, usually every new topic gets atleast one or two smartass posts, I guess nobody on here knows about the metric stages.

stages are stages. Harley Davidson, the MOCO, has a different interpretation than the rest of the world.... its the same for cars as well. I think HD considers a 95" kit with stock cam a stage II... the rest of the world considers that a 95" stage I (don't quote me on the exact verbiag HD uses, I don't have the parts catalog in front of me)... I do know that when performance folks talk performance, a stage I on a Harley is the same as a stage I ona Yamaha, which is the same as a stage I on a Mustang (intake and exhaust). Stage II is cams, etc.
