Do you let others ride your bikes?

I brought this up in another post and just wondered what others thought, I was brought up that you don't share your ride, meaning Don't ask to ride my bike and I wont ask to ride yours.
But attitudes have changed some and I was just wondering if that was still the way things are?

I know of 2 bros that I would be willing to let ride my scooter. Both have Harley's and I have ridden one of them. Other than those two, don't even ask. Just because you know how to ride a honda or yamaha don't mean you can ride my bike. There's a world of difference between a couple grand and 20.

Yes, I would.
I trust the guys I ride with enough to let them ride my bike.
As a personal rule though, I don't ride anyone elses. Many have offered and I take a pass. If I damaged someone elses bike I would never forgive myself.

I love my bikes, particularly my 120hp '97 Dyna Wide Glide with w/ Barnett Scorpion clutch - that's a workout. Known as The Bitch. That said, I would never in a million years equate it to my wife, or to my family or even to my best buds. I'd lay down my life for any of them as I know they would for me.
Man, I'd hate to be in need of a favor from some of you guys, no matter how close. Weird, but that's JMHO. Like something else, everybody's got one.

You make it sound so harsh, doing a favor for a bud in need is a little different than loading out your $20k bike. I have and do help my buds at all hours day and night, but they wouldn't ask me to borrow my bike. just saying

The only person I would let ride my bike is my old man, but he refuses. He says "if you can't pay for it, you can't ride it". Other than that the only time I've seen someone else ride my bike is when I had 5k cash in my hand and he was test riding it before buying it.
