Harley started producing motorcycles for police departments just five years after they built their first motorcycle in 1903. Advancements were slow at first, but in the 1930's Harley's engineers began developing the accessories that are normally associated with modern police motorcycles. Great info, thanks for sharing. I seem to remember as a little boy in the early 50's, the NYPD had red motorcycles with side cars. I assume they were Harleys, I'd like to see those featured too.
