Default How can I find out of I have a 96 or a 103

I want to know if I can tell by looking at the motor serial number stamped in the side if I have a 96 or a 103 or if you can tell if some has done a 103 kit on a 96 with out cracking the motor open.

I'm not sure, have you tried searching for the serial number? What year and model do you have?

Is this a trick question? Really, you don't know what motor you have? You are really asking that here?

"or if you can tell if some has done a 103 kit on a 96 with out cracking the motor open"

Sorry to say "You can do a 103 kit WITHOUT cracking the motor open"

I had to be a smart *** ...

Take to a dealership. Maybe they can tell you. If they can't and you can't find out by the serial number, Good Luck finding out.

Pour water in through the spark plug holes and measure how much went in each cylinder.
