Tough crowd. Actually a good question from a new guy. In stock form, there is not that much difference between a 96 and a 103. I have owned both and the only thing I feel is that 6th gear is a little more usable with the 103. My advise - ride it and enjoy it, do not be concerned about the displacement. A Harley is a cruiser, not a hot rod.
