Anybody here that HASN'T wrecked?

RE: Anybody here that HASN'T wrecked?
In 1985, I crashed my 1979 AMF Harley FLH shovelhead when I failed to negotiate a curve on a country road about 4 miles from my house. I had just left a bar where I had gotten into a fight with my now ex-wife, and was VERY drunk -- which I'm sure is the biggest reason I crashed in the first place. When I finally came to, I found myself laying about a foot from a culvert, and about 25 feet from the tore-up bike. My face was pretty cut up, but other than that, I wasjust badly bruised. I wound upstaggering home from there and my wife called a wrecker to pick-up the bike. Today, I don't drink a drop and haven't for years. Please....if you straddle your bike.....don't drink!! Enjoy your beers or cocktails after the bike is put away.

Never have laid a bike down. A guy pulled out in front of me in '75. I t-boned him and totaled the bike out, laid me up for a while. I '79, a guy ran a stop light and t-boned me on my '73 sg, totaled bike again, laid me up a little longer than the first.
My left leg is now better than my right, not from a wreck, my bother had a stroker sporty that you had to kick hard (when you weigh 160) kicker lever didn't catch and it and me free fell to the bottom and hyper extended my right knee. Never been the same since.[:'(]

Used to crash a lot back in my dirt riding dazebut in two years of riding Harleys, I have not had anything more serious than low speed parking lot laydowns.

only time I laid it down was with my second rice-rocket three days after buying it new, hit some oil on a curve getting on the freeway. Thankfully I had all gear on that time. It's been about 10 years since then, 8 w/ my hog, and no incidences yet. And of course, praying none will, but am fully suited just in case.

I first rode a motorcycle in 1968 but it took me till 1974 to get on the street. Shortly after that I had my first wreck. I don't remember what happened but I got scars to remind me something happened.
There have been several others but I never intentionally layed it down, although it may have looked like that to bystanders when I locked the front brake on my 81 shovel when some knot head pulled left right in front of me in 1989.
Almost all my friends have had at least on incident that required picking a bike up off it's side. I don't want to say that if you ride, you'll slide, but unfortunately my experience over the last 34 years kind of supports the saying.
