extended warranty rules have changed
i went to buy my warranty yesterday and the lady told me i was gonna have to get my bike inspected to get the warranty the factory warranty runs out october 29 . She said you have to get them 90 days before factory warranty runs out. Supoposely that changed in september. Has anybody ran across that yet.

after factory warranty's are a waste of money. save your money so if you do have a breakdown you can pay cash. the chances of that happening are low. and dont finance your bike, save your money and pay cash. in the long run you will spend thousands less and can afford a breakdown. buying extra warranty's are for people who can't budget and save money.

don't buy warranties, don't finance bikes, blah blah blah...
everyone has to make their own decisions and what works for one may not work for everyone. i've had 7 hds in the last 12 years, (my wife rides her own, so i get to buy 2 of everything) and i've financed everyone of them. i make extra payments so i've paid everyone of them off early so i've saved a lot in finance charges. and while you're saving up your money making a monthly note without actually having a note, i'll be out riding.
as far as esp plans. for some folks they're a good deal. depends on how much you ride. if you ride a lot of miles, the odds are that you're bike is gonna break down. so since you're so adamant for people not to buy esps, how about i forgo mine and if my bike breaks down, you pay any costs over and above what the esp would have cost? sounds like a deal to me.

I hope they don't charge for the inspection but assume you should not have a problem getting the warranty.
I am not an extended warranty guy. However when it comes to Harley's I feel it is a good thing to have if like said above you ride a lot and you plan on keeping the bike several years.
My 2010 has 39K miles now and the transmission rebuild and replacement rear shock have already covered the cost of the warranty. I have two more years of coverage plus the other benefits that go with it. Money well spent for me!

2. Whats your problem? Not everyone can afford to save up and pay cash for a motorcycle. Just because people finance a bike or get an extended warranty doesn't mean they can't budget or save money. I can budget and save money just fine but I still got an extended warranty. Buying an extended warranty in my opinion is preparing for the future in a way. If you pay $3,000 for a 5 year warranty and have $10,000 worth of warrantied repairs done in those 5 years, that warranty saved you close to $7,000 after you deduct for deductibles for the warranty. An extended warranty makes perfect sense to me.
Sounds to me like you need to get your head out of your butt and get rid of your condescending attitude and quit talking down to people.

Surprising that they require a pre-inspection in a warranty to warranty situation with no gap in coverage, does the extended warranty offer many optional coverages that go beyond factory warranty? I know some have mentioned tire protection, etc.
