Pig Trail: Thank you!

Pig Trail: Thank you!
Me and a few friends went up to bikes, blues and BBQ this past weekend in Fayetteville. We had a blast. If anyone hasn't been to this rally, definitely put it on the to do list. Anyways, I had never ridden the pigs trail so Sunday morning we took advantage of the great riding weather and headed toward the pigs trail on our way back to Louisiana.
There were four bikes in our group, all of us are experienced riders with plenty of saddle time. Just after the overlook on the first hairpin curve, one of my buddies went down. He was riding a limited and basically came out the top side of the curve, hit gravel and down he went. His wife hit her head on the pavement, but Thank God she had on a helmet. She's fine. My buddy had some nasty road rash on his elbow and arm, and a little on his knee. I was in front leading the group and was already around the next hairpin curve when i check my mirror and no one was there. My heart immediately sank and I couldn't get turned around and back around the curve fast enough to see what happened.
When I finally made it back around the curve, I saw the most amazing thing. There were no less than 25 people, who had parked their bikes and jumped off to help my friend out. Once they seen everyone was ok, it took about 5 minutes for them to get the bike out of the ditch and back on the side of the road. Wow. I had never experienced the kindness of bikers in such a way. It truly amazed me at how everyone who was behind us, and not even with our group, stopped to give us a hand. I don't know any of their names, but if by some chance any of you were on the Pigs Trail on Sunday 09-22-13 and stopped to give us a hand or just see if we were ok, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm not sure what anyone else's definition of a biker is, but the family you have surrounding you when you ride a bike, especially a harley, is the most incredible thing.
By the way, the bike is fixable, purely cosmetic, but probably about 5k in damage.

Sorry to hear of your friends off, but glad it wasn't more serious.
I'm not surprised to hear that everyone helped. It would be a cold hearted rider that wouldn't stop. The Pig Trail, as I'm sure you found out, is a popular ride. Obviously there was no shortage of good Samaritans nearby. I would say you couldn't sit in one spot for a minute without seeing a few bikes go by on any nice day.

Glad it all came out OK for all involved! I rode thru the Pig Trail last month on the way home from Sturgis -- beautiful day, had the road pretty much to myself. I stopped at that little store about halfway thru, met a nice couple riding their BMW down to MS to visit grandkids -- he was 73, his wife didn't volunteer her age (and I didn't ask, but she looked younger), nice folks!

Glad they are ok!!!!
What time did this happen?? I was on the Pig Trail myself Sunday morning, and saw quite a few bikes, but never came across a wreck. Glad his wife is ok.

I apologize for hijacking the thread, but did anyone get the name of the photo website that was taking pictures?

Glad he's ok and that the bike is fixable. I was on that road Sunday, but it was well after 10 a.m. We met the nicest people while we were there.
We turned East on 215 (amazing ride in itself) and had a fawn jump out in front of us and ate a late lunch in Oark. Then headed back North on 21. Scenery was better on 23, but the road (in my opinion) was more fun to ride on 21.
Glad you had a great time.
Puggy. I think it was www.pigtrailpictures.com I need to check them out also.
Edit: looks like the latest they have up on their site is from Friday so far.
