Ugly handbar cables - what works??
Although I dearly love my new (to me) Wide Glide, I am beginning to despise the ugly black handlebar cables. With a wedding quickly approaching, I don't have the time (....ok, really the funds) to get a new set of "integrated" handlebars and buy all new chrome cabling. What are my options that won't look like absolute trash?
I've poked around some sites, but is there any type of "chrome wrap" that won't look like "twisted, chrome colored electrical tape" or nasty shrink wrap? I'm not that mechanically inclined (yet) with my baby, but is there anything similar to SS braided cabling that I can "slip" over, rather than disconnecting everything? (At that point, I'd just replace it anyways).
On another note, later on down the road, would Integrated handlebars conceal the clutch cable as well as others?
Thanks guys!

I assume with integrated you mean internal cables inside the bars, unfortunately your stuck with the clutch cable outside only the smaller ones go inside, and as far as I know there's nothing appart from what you've already mentioned to cover them up, gotta be honest I've never known it to bother anyone else.

JMO, but why not tidy things up right now with a few tie wraps (pennies) so you can save for bars w/internal wiring later down the road. Sometimes all it takes is a little "cable management" to make things look better.

I was flipping through my JPCycles catalog the other day while on the crapper (good reading to pass the time).
I recall seeing this stuff...
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/5200...2-4692E32AE610
Been looking for some method to clean up the wiring on my recently picked up bike in sig that I'm slowly upgrading. The prior owner put on eggshell colored cables on the bars...freaking ugly, why eggshell colored cables? They are zip tied on...so hugging the bars...but still ugly. I remember seeing that stuff linked above in the catalog and wondering if it would help. It might actually be "too busy" looking...dunno. It's that spiral wrap stuff...so you could twist it on without removing your cables.
But I am thinking braided would look better...however with a braided jacket you'd have to remove one end cuz it's a true cover. Cant twist it on.

Thanks for all of the replies guys! Some good ideas to get me started in here.
Haha, I'll give you that one. With my bike, having more chrome than a black/matte black theme, I definitely think that chrome cables will certainly blend in with the rest of the chrome (and more to come).

Anything I don't like the look of I try to downplay the look of it as much as I can, which would be a flat black.
