Panama City?

I live between Panama City and Pensacola. Army sent me here a few years ago. I still can't believe I work in such a nice area. Almost the entire area is very biker friendly.

This will be our first time as well, so I searched these threads, bookmarked their website and then made my list. We'll be coming up 98 on Friday and staying at the Flamingo ($89 per) so we can do the pub crawls. Daytona can stick it. Hope everyone rides safe and has fun.

For a nice ride head west and stick to the beach on 30A and again towards Watercolor and Grayton Beach. Nice scenery along that route. Once you get closer to Destin hit Scenic Gulf Drive. On the way back we usually swing north and hit up the Outpost for a little while. Another ride we take sometimes(it's a longer ride) is to the East on 98 and go all the way to Apalachicola or St. George Island.
30A is great. Several good places to stop for lunch too. I recommend "Stinky's", which is towards the west end of 30A closer to Destin. All kinds of great casual seafood. If you stop in Seaside in the town square there are several old school Airstream trailers set up as lunch places. Barefoot BBQ is one, and there is another that is a grilled cheese place. Both worth stopping at.
Another great, longer ride would be to take 98 east of PCB. I've ridden through Tyndall Air Force Base while fighter jets were taking off on the runway a couple hundred yards off the highway. It's incredible, you can't hear a thing but those jet engines screaming. Head down 98 east to 65 north and ride through Tate's Hell State Forest, then you can cut back on 20 and down 231 back to PCB. That is an excellent 200 mile ride, with some great beach views along 98. If you want to shorten it just head north on 71 instead, and that'll shave it down to 150-ish miles.

places to eat:
Hunts Oyster Bar: get there early usually a wait
The Sand Bar
and a nice ride to Greyton beach and go to the Red Bar, some of the best crab cakes ive eaten. they only serve them on Friday and Saturday and cash only.
Wicked Wheel: check on the night. each night is something different. one night they give you the beer glasses you drink out of plus good food.
Captain Anderson is very good but pricey
take a ride down to Pier Park and then walk around and visit Margaritaville, Dirty Dicks and have dinnner then about 10 pm walk out on the piers across from Pier Park and watch all the fishermen catching Sharks.
St Andrews Bay Park
you can ride thru and see alligators and other wildlife. If you bring a mask you can swim at the beach area and along the jetty and see all types of fish, crabs, stingrays and other marine life.

Thanks! This is just the kind of stuff I was looking for! I plan on checking out that Air Museum for sure. I'll prob head west on 30A and do that loop and stop at some of those places also. I'll also go 98 east and do that 200 mile loop suggested. Can't wait, sounds like it's going to be a good time.
