What do they actually do at the 1000 mi check-up

Here's a Softail typical check list for the 1k, 5k, 10k, 15k, 20K, and 25K services.
This is what should be done and when.

Until mine's out of warranty, I'll pay them to service mine. Less potential for argument if I need anything fixed.
I don't know what they look at altogether, but last time they adjusted my headlight and throttle cables at least. I know, because I then had to adjust them back the way I like them once I'd got it home. :-/

Dino oil has a distinct green color and smell and is not transparent . The transmission oil does not get dirty for the most part especially at 1000 miles. Mobil 1 75-90 synthetic gear oil is semi-transparent and golden in color when you put it in and when you drain it

I've got all that, service manual for both bikes, a floor lift, a ride on lift, and most all of the tools that I need except some of the specialized stuff.
I will riding my CVO up to a dealer this morning to talk trade-in value on a 2014 Limited. If they price it right, I will take the Sporty also and then consider the deal.
I am in no hurry but I am interested in the new scoot. The wife and I plan on doing more traveling next year, so we are looking to be a bit more comfortable then we are on the SERG.
I notice under my forum name it says new member, weird, sense I have been a member since 2007. Just have not posted a lot or been on a lot until recently. Just a thought, no biggy.

The list is rather extensive but I wonder how many are actually done. One of the things on the list is a test ride. I know that did not happen on my bike as I made note of the odo reading before dropping off my bike for the service.

My dealer...Bergen Harley does a good job of all the services. It costs you but they do what is on the lists. I watch them and they take care to do the work. I don't have the time to do the fluids nor do I want to dispose of them. It's worth it for me. Glad I have a good dealer near me and don't mind supporting it.
