Best to ride it out. Apply both brakes about half until weight transfers to front, then stand on the front sucker. If you just hit the front it will skid without the transfer...

This has been a really good thread. Started getting a little heated up there too, but it did not get out of control. Reading all of your crash experiencesmakes me glad that I am taking the ERC in May. Even though I have 30 years of riding experience, there are a number of things I need to improve. Like Jerry Palladino says on his "Ride Like A Pro" instructional DVD, "Riders with 20 years experience really have just one years experience repeated 20 times." So true. I have been relatively accident free in all my years on the road (not counting minor drops) but that is no guarantee that I won't do something stupid. I consider myself a good rider, but I sure as hell don't know everything.

Not even a year since the accident I mentioned earlier in this thread.

This past Tuesday, the 13th, I had another "near", accident, due to a combination of plain stupidity and being anxious to get the bike out for the first time this year.[sm=crossbonesgif.gif]
