Here's the link. http://www.amadirectlink.com/legisltn/laws.asp

I agree that the "above the seat" thing is a bit weird. If you have a low-profile seat, that can easy affect it an inch or two.

Hey Bryanp could you check on TN, AR and MS for me? Being in Memphis, I'm in those states the most. Or just post the link and I'll check for myself.

Thanks,

Rick

Found this for MS: Handlebar Height Maximum of 10" above fasten point - Required by inspection regulations

I would think so. But honestly the 15 inches above the seat would make most all handlebars illegal. The whole thing is just assinine!

here is the Kansas Law

Handlebar Height
No person shall operate any motorcycle with handlebars so positioned that the hands of the operator, when upon the grips, are at or above shoulder height when such person is sitting astride the seat with the vehicle in an upright position

Ok that really makes no logical sense.....most factory bike already break that rule unless your riding like a crotch rocket or a roadkings are pretty low but say the street bob....that would be illegal

Not too mention that the law could vary depending on the riders height.

i think only the helmet laws applies in that case. Anything on the bike is governed by the state its licensed in.
