Ugly? Because they don't look like a Harley? That is a subjective opinion. Since there are many metric riders that might be ready to try a Harley, who knows if these will work? If Harley had been producing these for several years, their reliability was a known fact, and they weren't black, I would have picked up one of these instead of a Sportster.
The reason for me to try a Harley was simply because I have owned/ridden just about everything else. This 'experiment' will be interesting.

And that may be enough for them to buy one.
Those that do not like the way metric bikes look. That is why they buy Harleys. So I do not see a lot of Harley riders going out and buy one. For the same reason that not many Hummers or Americhi's were sold by Harley. They were ugly looking.

NEW younger customers are what Harley is looking for here. It's likely to succeed. Despite what any of us think of the V-Rod it sells big in warm countries where air cooling is not as practical.

Wife and I both kinda like them, though my immediate reaction was to hate it.
But even though I just got a brand new bike, I'm already playing in my head the idea of getting one and turning it into a cafe racer
