Official New Harley Models 500 and 700 Thread

Looks good, this should really help out in the smaller displacement market. This may be what I end up getting for my boys to ride untill they get their own. And we can whine and complain all we want about the liquid cooled engines. I don't see an across the board change coming too soon, but they will not be able to hold off forever. I'm not sure my beloved Dyna's will look as sexy with a radiator hanging off the front.

I guess the MoCo knows what they're doing. I'm sure it's a good financial move, but in my mind it just looks like a cross between every Asian Rim bike mfg., and the LA school of design. I'm sure it will sell just on the cache of the Harley name. Maybe my Grandkids will be looking at it in the future to enter the world of motorcycling. And I guess this is bigger than what I see. Just kind of ho-hum for me. Oh, and I see these being made in India, Brazil/Argentina, and China. Yes, I said China. They've already got dealerships there.

Back in 2007 my GF bought her first motorcycle......a 750 Honda Shadow. Great little motorcycle for a beginner. She put two years and 20K on it before moving up to her Deluxe. If these bikes had been around she may have started on a Harley. Look forward to seeing one on the dealer floor.

Great Strategy
Harley has recognized the "graying" of their current customer base. Demographics currently are not creating a growth curve on the chart. This smaller, lower entry level price point with generate new market penetration that will continue to grow and sustain the brand.

The "Street" 750 and 500
You know, I don't think that Harley can figure out how to integrate a radiator with a motorcycle design. I love the VRod except for the radiator and it is so ugly to me I could never get past it to buy one even though I think the engineering is way above my Softail.
Now they come out with the Street 750 dark custom. It's certainly a better design where the radiator is concerned, but they still had to make it "a design" instead of just letting it disappear into the overall form of the bike... geeze...
So everyone who has been "leaking" the "water cooled Harley" can go feast their eyes on one at the HD web site. Yeccchhhhhh....

Sort of reminisant of the old Harley cafe racer. I like it and I remember when 750cc was a big bike.
This could work for the old riders as well as the youngsters. I told my wife I was going to quit riding when I was eighty-two but I may buy one of these when I turn 82 and can no longer pick up my RK.
