Respect for half-helmet riders--going back to FF
#31
So I guess after 40 yrs of riding everything from dirt bikes to street bikes to Harleys, if I put my full face on, I might as well be driving my truck?
I only wear my FF on long highway runs. I enjoy the wind in my face, but for 3 hours at 80 mph, I'll pass on the 1/2.
On long trips, I take both.
I don't believe in cheap helmets, the better FF are well vented and lightweight.

The way I see it, I have nothing to prove. I wear my FF when I feel like it, my 1/2 when I don't. Plenty of guys in the MC community near me wear FF, and no one's about to question our manhood about it.
I don't get the whole attitude that "you're not a biker if you wear anything more than a novelty skull cap." To me its just ridiculous, I guess I better get in my cage if I don't like bugs in my teeth and rocks in my eyes.

OP, you're right about the wind noise. I have a low profile half and always wear good ear plugs, but that damn wind noise.... I'm concerned it's ruining what's left of my hearing.
May have to lump the cool factor and start wearing my 3/4. No way I'd resort to a full face though. I'd rather drive a car.

Live in a no helmet law state....so I prefer the wind in my face..and ears....no helmet, no windshield.

I wear a 3/4 helmet, no windshield almost all of the time. Keep a bubble shield in my saddlebag for rain. I do have a shield and a full face for when it gets into the low 40s in the fall. I don't mind the bugs in my face, although some of the big ones hurt. Plus I love the look on my wifes face when I get home from a ride and there's bugs in my beard.

That's one of the things I miss about living in CT. The others are the beach, diversity, good pizza, and good bread. lol
