FXRG Jacket - Leather or Nylon?

RE: FXRG Jacket - Leather or Nylon?
i tried the nylon on in the dealer... then the wifey bought the leather for me on valentines day
while ive had alot of m/c jackets over the years- i can honestly say that this is one quality jacket. the perfect fit/finish, kidney belt, pockets, liner, zippers, armor.... this thing is just a well-thought-out and engineered jacket.
i love it... and the leather is simply 'nicer'

I own neither jacket. I have never seen a cow with road rash. I would go with leather.

Thanks for the input guys. Most helpful. I ultimately decided to go with leather after comparing the 2 side by side at the store. As Mr. Violence stated this is a well thought out ENGINEERED jacket and I couldn'tagree more. I also considered the cold weatherefficiencies of leather over nylon. But what really caught my attention was WHAAP's comment about asphalt, melted nylon and skin. YIKES! That was a scary thought....so leather it is.
Thanks again for your help.

I know you've already made up your mind, but anyway...
I have the nylon and I love it. I've worn it in temps from 20 to 80 and been comfortable. It isn't nearly as heavy as the leather and is completely waterproof.
I'm no chemist, but thinking that this jacket will MELT to my skin in a crash seems a little rediculous.

That "nylon jacket melting into your skin in a slide" is pure nonsense.
The only way nylon is going to melt into your skin is if you get soaked in gasoline and catch fire.
I believe that military aviators and firemen are warned about wearing some synthetic clothing for that reason

Believe me if you're sliding down the road at 40+ mph. YOU WANT LEATHER !!! Not pleather or nylon, they won't hold up and they get real hot even if they don't melt, that still burns.
