Vance and Hines exhaust.

Vance and Hines exhaust.
I have a 2011 FHLTK. I purchased a set of V&H Dresser Duals and Monster ovals. My problem is where the cross over pipe connects is a leak. The head pipe has a split that is suppose to mash down on the cross over pipe and the cross over pipe has a ring that will only let the pipe go in so far. It seems like the cross over pipe ring will not let it go in far enough to go pass the split to seal. Anyone else have this problem, and if so, what can I do to fix this. It lets a lot of heat out. And that is why I replaced the stock exhaust, because the cat convertor was to hot. Thanks for any suggestions..

You may need to pick up a pipe spreader from Harbor Freight for cheap and expand the side with the split so the other side seats inside farther.
Also if you have crushed the pipe clamp once already it would be a good idea to pickup another one of those so you can get it good and tight.
Last idea is to line up the clamp over the split to aid covering the split, but will still leak some.
I had to use a spreader on one side of my Power Duals to get muffler to fully seat into header.
Poor QC from V & H.
