Default Cruise Control for softail?

Is it possible to get a cruise control for the fatboy? Not one of those rubber things that goes on the throttle... something more like what is on the touring bikes.

I just did a search on the MoCo's web site for cruise control for a 2006 Fatboy, got no results. Try the aftermarket.

In the back of 'American Iron Magazine', there is an ad for "Genuine Harley Davidson Electronic Softail Cruise Control" for 1997-2007 Softails and 1997-2001 Road Kings from
www.cruisemount.com

I don't have one, so I am not making a recommendation, just passing on the info. However, I have considered getting one for my Deluxe. If you do end up getting this or another, let me know how you like it.

Good Luck,
Bob

I found that when I did a search on google... I was hoping someone else on here had some experience with actually installing one as well. =)

Its a little to rich for my blood, $700+. I will stick with the Kury Throttle Boss. Works great for me!

But, when someone else is a guinea pig, let us ALL know how it installs and works!

Default RE: Cruise Control for softail?

Cruisemount's owner fabricated a wiring harness for installation of the HD cruise unit on my '04 EG police model. Since it was a one-off and he used to live near me, he came by Thanksgiving week last year and did the installation. The harness was perfect and the installation was professionally done. The cruise unit works great. I would highly recommend his product to softail owners who want real cruise control on their bikes.

Virtually all the touring bike owners who add cruise control are extremely happy to have it. The cost on the softail is partially due to the need to create a mounting for the cruise module and then cover the module. The harness runs about $170 and the cruise unit from HD is about $350; the rest of the cost are the mounting pieces.

If you call Dave, the owner, I am sure he can supply names of customers to contact for their impressions.
