I don't know where you guys get your info, but there is NO way a newer model (2004-newer) 1200 Sportster Custom (the ONLY Sportster I'd consider) is going to be available for $6,000 or less.

I don't know about your market...but at least not down here in Texas. To find a used big twin under $10K is a miracle in and of itself.
I don't live in Texas, I live in OKC but I guarantee you could find a better deal on a newer bike. I've been looking for about a month here and the Texas dealers beat our dealers by thousands (on used)! I'd start with these: www.fullboar.com, www.dreammachinesoftexas.com, www.re-cycles.com.I know some of them have a lot of room in their prices if you have cash!

To some people "NEWER" is not as desireable as older, Not many here have thought of it that way.But a lot of riders prefer the older. Older is more unique. Not as Cookie Cutter.

I sold it (eBay) when my daughter was born. That thing was georgous and rode like a dream!! Some guy in Delaware has it now. Sometimes I miss it...it was set up with EVERYTHING a guy could want.

Here's a pic:

I say if you like to work on things and plan on putting extra money into the motor got with the Softail, otherwise get the Sporty.
Being as I would probably throw some upgrades on the old evo I would probably get the 93, but hey I don't know what you would do with it. Just my 2 cents.
