Renting from an HD Dealer
#31
I took a MSF course back in July at the HD dealer. It was not the HD version but a MSF that is state subsidized. They raffled off a free rental and gave everyone else 50% off a rental. I'll be taking advantage soon.

My husband and I rented a Heritage from Southern Tier in New York. The bike was in excellent condition and the staff were super. For the deposit at Southern, they didn't actually withdraw the money. They just made a scan of the card in case something happened, but I don't know if all Dealerships operate this way.

Maybe they've improved the process to be more transparent since then.

first off i want to say " BE VERY CAREFUL of where you ride in Memphis." keep your eyes open and alert to the areas you will be riding into especially at night if you will be alone.
If you havent been to Memphis then make sure and stop in on Beal Street, great BBQ,and great Jazz music, they block off the street from cars and such so you will have to walk so dont be down there too much after dark if you are alone because you may have to park in some pretty out of the way and dark places. A few miles from Beal St you can ride over the bridge to Arkansas and hit the casino & dog track or you could head south into Mississippi and go to all the casinos in Tunica. This is also a nice ride.
Another good ride is to get on I-40 East and get off at any exit you see and hit the side roads, lots of backroads, hills and beautiful countrysides to see. Its tobacco curing time around here so you will get all the smells of the different curing dust.

HI All,
Couldn't' find anything on this topic - so, wanted to ask if anyone's rented from an HD Dealer (ie. for a day/week)...going to be travelling to Memphis in a month, and wanted to do some touring...$150 a day seems a little too good to be true for a RoadGlide Ultra.
Any experience good/bad from anyone that's done this before ?
