Default Another Accident Story.

Stupid Deer as big as the whole road! Grabbed all the brakes i could but i think i hit a bad spot in the pavement. Ended up losing the front end, went down hard on my right and as I was finishing my crash, my buddy went down also trying to avoid me. His bike hit me in the right shoulder.

So, here I am lying in the hospital with a broken collar bone, shoulder blade, six broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a pile or road rash and bruises. Helmet did its job well. My 1,100 mile 2013 Street Glide is trashed. Haven't seen it myself but my friend thinks it is totaled. I was really loving my first tour type bike.

Already looking at a new bike, but not too much of a hurry. I think my shoulder will have me in a cage for the rest of the year while I get back up to snuff!

Also a new helmet, jacket and gloves!

oh dear God, thankfully you are alive and can mend. I'm sorry. It's only going to get worse with the fall coming and rut season

the big difference in hitting a deer and a car is that the deer did see you and was trying to get out of the way/back to safety. hope you mend quickly.

Sorry to hear about your "incident", but if they total your bike, you could get a 2014 with that new vented fairing!!! Glad you weren't seriously injured....
