Don't break down in Gillette, Wy

Really, Action Motors Sports is just down the street! Its less than a 1/4 mile away and you can see the sign from the HD dealer. He could of pushed the bike that far on a flat! Monday morning quarterback huh, maybe you should look before you spout off. Never said the dealer didn't want to take him for a ride but, he let them! I think a $25-50 tow down the street would have been a lot cheaper then be taken for the cost of a tire and labor to replace it. Probably a good chance Action had it in stock also. Kudos for him to warn people about the dealer policy but he let himself get taken. Monday morning other places were open and a cost of a tow would have been way cheaper then when another tire he didn't need.
Credit card dispute will not cover you here. They will show them the work order with his authorization signature and the agreed price before the work was done.

apparently, the OP just traveling thru the town, and not being familiar with all the local dealers, should have known that the HD dealer was going to screw him and that there was another dealer just down the road who could have fixed him up both fairly and cheaper..

2. You have had good experiences at other dealerships and have no reason not to suspect foul play at this one.
3. Once you're committed it's almost impossible to have them put everything back including the flat tire.
Since it didn't happen to us, second guessing is a waste of time.

1. You own a H-D, a dealer has the parts and equipment to service your bike.

Hi,
All the best to the OP in his endeavours with unfair treatment and definitely feel what the dealers across the world are doing is very average
This one of the reasons I undertook the challenge of taking off rear wheel, do tire and put wheel back on so if travelling around the country I might just be able to get a tire changed anywhere
Even in my home town 4 motorcycle shops will not take wheel off and only do a tire change if you bring the wheel in
Thanks
Mirrmu

These threads are not only a good way to alert riders to potential bad actors, but also good for provoking others to think in advance about how they would handle similar situations.

I cut and pasted this from the internet, does this paint the picture who Chuck Ruiz is?

Hmm... I can take the wheel off and put it back on, and on road trips I carry enough tools to accomplish that. However, I don't typically carry a jack or lift with me. Might be able to "Mcgyver" something in an emergency(?)
