For anyone else that gets this treatment from Gillette or any other HD dealer, most Honda shops have Dunlop tires to fit our rides. Indy works too, but Honda shops stock the tire, and will normally mount on your HD no questions asked in my experience.
You're right about that, I forgot. My buddy needed a tire in Durango, CO. Went in to Durango HD on a Friday afternoon. They said "come back on Wednesday" We told them that we were on the road, on a tour, and they said "OK, we MIGHT be able to fit you in on Tuesday." That, for a tire change for someone who was on the road at the time. 5 days, or maybe 4. We got it done at the Honda dealer that afternoon.

My dealer (and there good guys) told me the same thing.
They wouldnt put an e3 on the front with a stock D 40whatever on the back.
I called Dunlop and got it in writing that it's no problem to have these two together on the bike.

I went back to my Service Manager he verified it and did the job.
Crazy how disconnected things can be. Your story is just such a bad story man.
So sorry.

Freak'n horror stories......If Corporate don't respond, maybe I will look hard at the new Indian...When you are out on the road, sometimes you need to count on these dealers, if Corporate don't care, well then .................................................. ........
Yeh, Deluxe HD in Gillette, WY. Have asked the owner twice now to contact me but no luck. He owns 3 dealerships, Sundance, Casper & Gillette. Guess the sad thing is the "policies" at the Gillette dealership must also apply to Sundance & Casper (meaning screw the biker).
I just rode through Casper last Sunday, guess I was lucky that I didn't need any "dealer" help then ..........

Man......all that without Vaseline....Bad for you as well as the "helpful" Dealer. I'd send this thread to the mothership. May not do any good, but i'd try to let everybody know about there backhanded service practices. If i lived near them, i'd walk in and let them know, I'd never buy from them because of there shady reputation.
Definitely sucks!

the Honda dealer in San Bernardino (Chaparrel) will not work on HD's. They will mount tires on wheels brought in but they won't touch a Harley.

I just posted on FB...And I don't even have FB. This is my favorite thread...Call them and tell them we'll make it stop when you get reimbursed.
