it was probably foolish to think the moco would have done anything on this complaint. there was no money in it for them...and that is their only concern. chuck ruiz is harley davidson in wyoming--he can do no wrong.

it was very poor corporate policy and i would imagine that a good deal of thought was put into anne's reply by her supervisors...before you were told to go "deluxe" your self. they are not going to get involved in some petty dispute over a tire or a dealer's policy on replacing them. in my mind, the moco could have written the OP a check for the tire he did not need and created a lot of good will for the company. would have made us all proud to be harley owners--now we all have a bad taste in our mouths about the moco's "deluxe you" policy.

Guess they just washed their hands of it ! Response made no sense, didn't address chuck's raping of out of state riders at all.
Thanks HD, you were there when I needed you ?
I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.....!

Actually, I'm not. Loyalty? Not from HD. We're on our own folks, just another customer number in the HD database.

Looks like a cookie-cutter response. You see it on Internet customer support lines a lot- to filter the vast volume of complaints and questions some companies get, they have pre-written responses that go out automatically in replies, based on certain keywords in the message. The result is often responses like this one, that are hardly relevant and don't solve any problems on either end. I highly doubt Anne wrote the response you got, or most of it, I should say. It's a shame, human interaction usually moves things along.

Not sure if I'm more disappointed by the behavior of chuck deluxe or the MoCo via Ann. tough call between the two.

I guess that I'm very lucky when I broke down in WY that it was a Holiday weekend and everything was closed! Dave and Larry (sorry I didn't get last names LOL) stopped in the pouring rain and helped me jerry rig the bike enough to get it to Dave's place in Gillette, where they had the correct parts and tools. Where I was told to "make myself at home" shown where the washer/dryer and SHOWER was, they wouldn't let me give them money so I treated them to dinner at Gaiters (AWESOME) I really wish I had gotten contact info, because they saved me!
