Don't break down in Gillette, Wy

actually, i was doing it as a public service for dealers everywhere...and the moco. surely the parent company gets a couple of bucks when a tow is involved and they could use the money. that 900 number is a great idea...the moco could use it to make a profit off of anyone that calls in with a warranty claim-minimum charge to file a warranty claim could be $9.99+applicable taxes.
press 2 for a double, Deluxed and your choice of local dealer
press 3 to receive the wrong parts you will have to return
press 4 for the mechanical misdiagnosis of your choice
Dan, I believe you are a genius. Wish you could share in the profits but since you did it as a public service....

so 1000 posts about this topic, some people trying to crash or tarnish thei FB account
some emails, maybe even some snail mails, and phone calls
and not really one of those things really costs ol Chucky much of anything
I can't believe no one thought of calling in with phony stranded rider calls, this whole thread started with a broke down bike, does this dealer NOT have a recovery truck that comes out and gets you
he has 3 dealerships - they don' have a service truck to pick up bikers that are stranded
If they do, I would think a few phony calls and wasted time would cost him a few bucks
not enough to make it hurt, by all accounts this guy is rolling it in and could care less about all of us out of state folks that would never spend I dime in his dealerships even IF this thread didn't exist

Hello and thank you for calling. After you input your valid credit card information:
press 1 to get Deluxed
press 2 for a double, Deluxed and your choice of local dealer
press 3 to receive the wrong parts you will have to return
press 4 for the mechanical misdiagnosis of your choice
To speak directly to Chuck, insert phone into rectum, wait indefinitely.

Not one of the basic services. There is a surcharge for that item.

I can say Deluxe Casper doesn't have a service truck. I called and asked while standing on the shoulder 60 miles from Chuck.

I know I'm throwing a small monkey wrench in the best Flame the Dealer thread I've seen on any message board anywhere, but hey at least I'm bumping it.
From noted motorcycle rider and journalist, Felicia Morgan in this month's Thunder Press (which has a circulation of 250K).
"I've mentioned it during the regular service visits but my complaints fell on deaf ears. Not at Deluxe Harley Davidson of Gillette. Two different mechanics came out to ask diagnostic questions before it was determined that I had a bad lifter, while I waited, they replaced all four. The beast and I were back on the road to make another 130 miles by nightfall".
But if it makes everyone think they're actually doing something to drastically hurt the business .....Flame on.

Yup...that's the idea. Chuck IS loosing some business from members. Maybe not today, but over the long run.
