1St time 2up with a strange man! and I was happy to do it.
Today I left a bike swap meet and was on my way for a nice cruise. Going no where. Just for a ride. I exited the highway and much to my displeasure there was a long line of cars at the stop sign. It seems there was a car dead at the sign. Well, I finally managed to get to the car as EVERYONE did there best to get around it.
I pulled in. "HEy, need a hand moving her off the road?" He said "yes please". I was surprised that he said please! Well, on came my flashers . . First time I've ever used them! I backed up and he was able to back his car up following me. So I slowly pushed backwards working to the side of the road while other cagers went around us. As he backed slowely to the side I read everyone of his stickers on his car. ALL MILITARY related. When he got out and said thanks I asked why the stickers. He had just got back from Iraq. His grandad was proud of him and had given him a Harley! He was at the SAME SWAP meet!
Well, I offered him my phone so he could call for help. A state trooped SLOWLEY passed us but didn't stop. HE went about 1/4 mile down and stopped. I presume he was watching. A state worker cruised by and offered a hand and the kid denied.
Well, the kid couldn't get a friend on the phone so he crawled under his car while I stood watch for vehicles. The right front CV joint had exploded. HE WAS STUCK. I offered a ride if he could pull a magic helmet out of his car because they are required, the trooper was stil watching, and I had no spare! Well by golly guess what, he had one!
Well, needless to say, ANYONE who fights for me to be free can get a complimentary ride anytime they are in need! YEp, I took him directly to his place of choice and that my friends was my ride for the day! After dropping him off, I cruised home with a smile I really hope he gets his rig running!

Do you remember the recent thread about men riding two up? I can't think of a better reason to do it, and not one darn thing against doing it. You done good!

Yes, I do remember the thread about riding two up and that is why I posted.
I was indeed surprised at the number of folks that simply passed up a chance to help out someone. Now if you are female and have fears I fully understand why the need to press on. I saw SEVERAL cars with two or more dudes who could have easily protected themselves if that was a concern.
In fareness one guy actually offered up help if necessary while I was there. So I guess, maybe one in thirty?
Even the trooper didn't stop. Well, he did but about a 1/4 a mile away. So I guess he was doing what he was trained to do.
Maybe an officer here knows the thoughts behind this?
Hey Yeah, I'd like to know why? Is there training or such that would cause a trooper to pass folks on the side of the road and stop a little further down and NOT offer assistance? Please, no flames, my job directly supports LEA's ( Law Enforcement Agencies ) and I have the utmost respect for folks in this field.
Thanks for the kind remarks.
