But too old???? Guess I hadn't thought about it...How many lower 20 somethings can afford a Harley? I really don't seem to see any.
Gonna have to find one of those all bike rallies and see if we spot some younger guys....

Age is relative anyway. There's always someone who thinks you're old, and someone who thinks you're a pup.
WhenI was an 18 year old in the Marines I was stationed with a guy who joined after I did and was 23. All us young guys called him 'Gramps'. We had a gunny who had a heart attack on a unit run one morning that was 36, and our attitude was "What do you expect- he's old."

Hey speak for yourself.... I was in my early 20's when I bought my Harley, and paid cash for it, but I do have to agree a bit with your daughter when I go to the shops or the small get togethers around here I don't get taken very seriously cause of my age, and the rest of the croud is my older then I.

I wanted a Harley for years, but road crotch rockets because I could afford one. Finally at 39 I can afford a Harley. My suggestion to the younger riders is to get your bike BEFORE you get married and start a family. Much easier that way.

I bought my first Harley at 26. I didn't even want a crotch rocket, I wasn't smart enough to own oneI would have killed myself within a year! It was 19 years old when I bought it, and I did a lot of work to get the 70's off it Today I would have left it alone, it would be retro now!

RE: Slammed by the daughter!
My daughter rides a 750 Shadow, all she ever wanted was a Harley Sportster. For her 18th birthday last month I took her to the local dealer and let her ride a new sportster. I gave her the option of a new sportster or customize her Shadow. I just knew i was going to have to buy the sportster, but she chose to fix up her shadow. I told her I didn't want to hear anything else about wanting a Harley. (I think she would take my Street glide if she could handle it) Now her shadow is custom painted pearl white with blue flames, side mounted license frame, solo seat, and all the chrome we could find. She can't wait to get to bike week and try out some of the shows.
