Default M-cyclist killed by airborne deer after being hit by car

this really sucks for his family. Neither the car nor the motorcyclist did anything wrong, just bad fate, I guess. The car hit a deer, which went airborne, and it wiped out the motorcyclist in the oncoming lane, killing him.

Where I live, this is one of my biggest fears.
Bad fate, and bad timing....

I had 3 different patients ask me today if I had heard about this, since it was local. I hadn't actually, but I told one of them I'm close with, that if I die while I'm on my bike, then know I was happy....that didn't reassure him at all, but it would be true.

I guess this is one of those times, when you say, "it was his time". I hope he didn't suffer, but they did pronounce him at the scene.

Situations like this always make me wonder what unseen forces might be at work. Imagine the incredible timing involved in this accident when the sequence of events are measured in milliseconds and everyone being in the precise spot at the precise time. What caused the rider and the deer to arrive at the same spot at the same instant? Was it just pure chance and nothing more or is some destiny or something at work? A second one way or the other and this would not have been an accident but an incredibly close call.

I hear ya, and at 5:30 am to boot. It's really chilly up here that early in the morning too. I'd suppose he had gear on, otherwise it would have been really cold riding.

Wow, that's terrible. Deer are one of the things I'm paranoid about when I ride.

Be careful out there DragonFly!

Deer are terrible around here. Especially in the fall when all the hunters park along side the road with there 4 wheel drives that for some reason can't even make it off the shoulder of the road. Add hunting dogs running the deer like crazy. I hate to hear this happened.

I am never happier than when I see combines pulling down corn stalks in the fall.
Deer scare me more than old ladies going to get cat food while making all left hand turns at dusk, in the rain, on a full moon on friday the 13th when a black cat crosses my path while I am pulling out. Just sayin

Hate deer…
