Default Letter to H-D engineers regarding fluids

Why can't you folks change your fluid specs to match the container sizes that oil vendors sell their products in? It is a pain in the a$$ to constantly have to fill compartments with less than what is in the bottles. I've had to resort to emptying a beer bottle so that I can put in 20-24oz of oil in the compartments. Just sayin'

I'd be thankful the "compartment" didn't require 33-34oz. Just sayin........

Harley makes at least 5 new engines I can think of and they all take different fluid amounts. Add all the older engines and you get the idea why it isn't possible.

While they're scurrying around in Milwaukee fixing that now, you can go get a ratio-rite from HF for about 4 bucks... or there's the OL's measuring cups..hehe

That always works out good for me. We have two buns left over and they are great for making a small tuna sandwich.

We often read complaints about service jobs where the wrong amount of fluids are used. I believe the real complaint should be what the OP is saying.

When each year's models have different amounts, or different directions....For instance, on my '06, to check the tranny, the bike is to be upright, with the dipstick resting on the threads. But to check the engine, it is to be on the side stand, warmed up.

Different years have different directions.
