Default Motorcycle Lift / Scissor Lift

This may have come up in the past not sure, when lifting your MC (where is the center of balance) I would like to think that Harley would have a sticker or some sort of reference point on the bottom frame that would give you a close idea of a balanced lift.

I've never seen a sticker anywhere on any brand of bike. I just kind of get it in the middle of the rails, equidistant from the front to the back

The center of balance is different on each model and can vary depending on what goodies you install. On a good lift, just find the spot where both tires lift off the ground simultaneously and strap it down before screwing with it. You can then put your own mark on it with a marker for next time.

I had an 01 wg and I could only get one pad on the frame due to the oil pan gaurd. Still worked fine.

Default Scissors Jacks

If you want to get the entire bike lifted, you will need 2 scissors jacks to do it. Trying to find the place where it is balanced on 1 jack is an accident waiting to happen. If you use 2 scissors jacks, one goes under the front of the frame and one goes in front of the rear wheel. Any real reason the whole bike has to be off the ground completely at both ends ?

J&S jacks recommends lifting the touring line by placing the rear arm under the rear of the cross member!

My lift has two pads and I just lift it in the middle. sometimes if the front tire comes off the ground early, I just let 'er down and readjust. Easy peasy.

I just was making a question about lifting a motorcycle, It would not be a hard task for harley or any other motorcycle maker to have a center of gravity location on the botton frame. how many story's have you heard of motorcycles falling over when lifted. (mostly by idiots who dont know how to lift a motorcycle correct) I have been dicking with motorcycles for the last 46 plus years, i have figured it out.
