Anyone ride this road? Is it paved? I see on my Butler map it runs all the way into Montana and looks really twisty but desolate...

 

Paved all the way past avery a few miles then gravel into montana. Stop in at avery get a huckleberry ice cream turn aroung head back to st maries. Fun ride

 

Paved in Idaho, not in Montana. However, the Montana section has been in very good shape every time I've ridden it.

 

Not all directions into Idaho are paved. Be sure not to try and go over Moon Pass into Wallace, Idaho. It is loose gravel. The paved portion connects HWY 95 all the way to Avery and further upriver. You can also access on the paved portion through St Maries on Hwy 3 to Hwy I90. Personally, I would not take the bike over the Montana portion which is not paved.

 

One more thing. The bar/hamburger joint in Avery burned down last week so services are going to be darn limited in Avery. Be sure to gas up and get any food/drink in St Maries.
