FLSTN windshield problems HELP!!!!!
Ok can't post pics from my phone will put them up in the morning.
Here we go, this is my wife's bike and we are leaving on a 600 mile ride the 10th and 11th, it's her first long trip ever she has been riding jap bikes for years. But only local rides.
I bought the bike with no wind shield. It apparently has an aftermarket passing light bar. Because the correct windshiled will not fit. The passing light bracket makes the headlight housing area 13.5 inches wide from grommet to grommet without the bracket it is only 12 inches.
I looked it over pretty well I am no stranger to making stuff work but short of actually cutting metal away I can't see a way to get it on there. The stock bracket looks flat against the housing witch would work.
So?????
1, has anyone else dealt with this.
2, does anyone have a stock bracket with the lights already attached that would be willing to sell????
I need to get this done before the 10th
I don't want her first long ride to be a bad expirience,

Pics will def help. I've a FLSTNI with a HD classic windshield, quick disconnect kit. The quick disconnect brackets fit over and behind the light bar. I'd be interested in seeing what you are dealing with.
Take care.

Only thing I can tell you is that the stock bracket on my wife's Deluxe also puts the grommets (center to center) at 13.5 inches apart. Could you have the wrong windshield? With the HD Nostalgic windshield installed it clears the headlamp housing 1" on the sides and 1.25 at the top.

Problem solved
Thanks to those who did respond.
I stopped at the dealer tonight on way home he had the 18" windshield in stock... $400 later it took ten minutes to install and it's perfect.
That $400 was earmarked for my 10k service I guess I will be doing the 10k myself.
To explain what I went thru. The deluxe is stock, I bought a windshield off EBay and the guy had it listed as part number 57400115 harley lists this for the Deluxe with or without passing lamps,,,,, so i bought it......
The shield I got does not fit.....
I explained to the seller that it is not the right part number and even asked where he came up with the part number and he said its in the book page bla bla bla.... Well he is wrong the windshield he sold me was for a fatboy with no passing lights.
When I shopped ebay I specifically searched that part number...
So needless to say I have a fat boy windshield for sale....
