I took a seagull to the chest at 40 mph a few years ago. It hurts.

I've hit one or two with the bike but one never struck me. I bet that would hurt.

Many years ago one perforated my face shield when I was traveling 65-70 mph. (The thin old flat screen type.)

Smaller than a robin, spun my head back hard.

Back in the mid 80's I was riding my Sportster under an interstate overpass at about 50 mph.. A pidgeon flew down and almost caught me in the face. I saw it coming and ducked right before it was about to hit. Almost ran off the road though. Never forget that one !

Wife and I were in a car cruising from IL to IN and I'll tell you the biggest damn prehistoric-sized bird I've ever seen jumped out from the median and barely flew over our hood. Scared the crap out of us! I accelerated unknowingly and before we could get over the WTF was that moment, a cop pulls me over...

He apparently believed my unbelievable story because we were still shaking. It was just so sudden, and large, like a deer with wings. Trooper said slow down and waved me on.

We limped along the next few miles lol.

I never saw it coming, Don't know what kind it was, no pics. I thought about it later and figure that if somebody was behind me they probably had to pull off from laughing so hard to keep from crashing. I know I would have.
