Take a small bottle of soft soap, pump a few squirts in a condom and roll it over your throttle grip. Guaranteed no one will touch your bike!! Very cheap and effective!

Ditto, lock forks, lock ignition, maintain insurance for theft and walk away. At hotels I often see bikes parked just outside the front entrance, around here I doubt many would refuse that request but in a more metro area it might be different. Throwing $10-20 to the desk clerk probably wouldn't hurt either if your in an area thats less desirable.

If it's a fast in & out in a large public place ign. locked with a disk lock , if the bikes going to be outa sight for a while the above and I'll run a cable or chain through the rear wheel and around something like a post or rail or another bike . Thief may deal with one or 2 issues but the the 3rd means work and spending time they don't have .

+1 You don't have to run faster than the bear . . . you just have to run faster than the slowest hiker on the trail . . . same logic . . . but it works. Time is everything to a thief . . . if yours takes longer to steal . . . you get to keep your bike!

Full coverage insurance. I haven't worried about it.

You could hang an empty holster on the swingarm...might not stop them but they will sure think twice about the guy out there with the gun.
