I purchased a disc lock with alarm (Xena xx15) and have the factory passive alarm but thats it. Thanks
PLEASE make sure that the lock does NOT false alarm.
A false alarm is the worse because after a while people just refuse to even look in the direction of the bike.
1-You have a factory alarm..GOOD
2-You lock the ignition and forks every time you park..GOOD
3-You use a disc lock for overnight or in an unsure area..GOOD ..MAKE sure to use reminder cord.
*The only thing missing is an inexpensive Walmart cover for overnight.
They are located in the car section, come with a small pouch and are under $25.
It keeps the bike dry overnight, gathers less attention and random people are less likely to sit on your bike.

+1 On the cover.
"Out of sight-out of mind" is good.
Have a plan for if you catch someone "Lifting her skirt".

Get Lo-Jac ..then if it is stolen, you stand a good chance of getting it back.

I take the bags and windshield off.

Lock the ignition and forks.

Park next to my boyfriends Screamin' Eagle Road Glide. Why steal my little Dyna when his bike is there being worth way more money.

HD Siren II, locked fork, ignition is locked because the key must be in to turn it on or off.
A Xena XX14 on front and back rotors. No reminder cord is needed because it will go off as soon as you try to pick the bike up off the kick stand.

If with a buddy a Masterlock Street Cuff is used between the bikes frame to frame locked.

Make it easier pickens elsewhere is all you can do.

I have never seen anyone do anything other than get annoyed when a car/motorcycle alarm goes off.

From what I've seen at Sturgis, most people just put it back in the trailer.

I used to worry about locking my bike up at public events until one day Momma asked, "don't you have insurance?" I replied well yeah...
Then Momma asked " don't you have all chrome and extras insured seperately?" To which I answered well yeah.....
Momma then asked me "Don't you want a new bike?" To which I gave the only true answer, well yeah...
To which Momma asked "Well then, whats the problem?"

My wife is pretty smart sometimes.....

I hate insurance and the blood sucking no-nothing parasites that sell it. So,if I am parking overnite or at a place I dont feel comfortable about I use disc locks and the best Kryptonite cable with ends that will pass thru eachother. I cinch one end around my frame and one around a stable object. I also use a cover and a Gorilla alarm and a Kimber .45.
