I carry and use this:
Master Lock 8155DPF-Python Cable Lock
It takes up little room and is easy to use.
PS: put it through the Frame and not the wheels.

I have the alarm and siren and I lock the neck and ignition. But if someone wants it bad enough, they're going to take it.

Yeah, I have HD security and NEVER lock my bike - I just take the fob with me. Like you said, if someone wants it, they're gonna find a way to get it, regardless of any precautions you take.

Best security = good insurance coverage...that's about all you can do.

Friend in DC had his bike lifted in secure/gated area. Perps rolled through entry gate (w/rent-a-cop) in delivery truck (indicated they had drop-off) and proceeded to load every bike they wanted. Once full, they simply drove off to the chop shop...

Make sure you have the proper insurance to cover the bike and luggage. If somebody wants the bike or bags, they are going to get them.

You can always hide a cell phone that can be tracked.

I do three things:

1) Lock ignition
2) Lock steering column
3) PARK CLOSE TO A MUCH NICER BIKE

Same here. I get off the bike and go about my business. For overnights I have a Honda cover. Its the only cover I ever had from a previous bike so it wasn't a deliberate purchase for my HD.
